How to enable two-step verification in WhatsApp
Protect WhatsApp with a PIN after SMS verification so future sign-ins require more than just a phone number.
Short answer
After WhatsApp accepts the SMS code, enable WhatsApp two-step verification from Account settings. This creates a PIN that Numsify cannot see or reset.
Step-by-step guide
- 1Open WhatsApp after the number is verified.
- 2On iPhone, tap Settings. On Android, tap the three-dot menu, then Settings.
- 3Open Account.
- 4Tap Two-step verification.
- 5Tap Turn on or Enable.
- 6Create a six-digit PIN and confirm it.
- 7Add an email address if WhatsApp asks for one, so you can recover the PIN later.
Important notes
WhatsApp Business uses a similar path: Settings, Account, Two-step verification.
If WhatsApp later asks for a PIN, use your WhatsApp PIN. It is not the SMS OTP.
Numsify can receive SMS codes, but it cannot bypass WhatsApp security checks.
